Traditional markets always have their own charm and also present new business opportunities for those who can give the ‘right’ product; the same is being explored with good results by KS Enterprises, which is now exporting scarves mainly to US. Established in 1984, the company was earlier doing business mostly into Europe, but a year back it entered into the US market, and got opportunity to work with 4 wholesalers and a big buyer like Steve Madden.
Looking for future growth, the company is in the final process of certification and various kinds of audits to add more and bigger buyers. “Our social audit is over and in another two months our technical audit will also be complete, alongside we will also get an ISO 2008 certificate, then we will be able to work for JCPenney which is really a good opportunity for us,” says Prabodh Sadh, Partner at KS Enterprises. With an average FOB of US $ 2, the company is also increasing its capacity; while earlier it had capacity of 50,000 pieces per month, it now has the capacity of 80,000 pieces per month. “US is a good market and within one year we have got a very good response which will help us to clock 40 per cent growth this year,” concludes Prabodh enthusiastically. It is encouraging that more and more accessories companies are now moving towards big buyers which will enhance business, as buyers are now looking for co-ordinates and the same can be serviced by them.
