
According to reports, Indian textile industry with policy support from the Government has the capability to cross US $ 500 billion mark by 2025 from its current estimate of US $ 108 billion. The US $ 500 billion market figure consists of domestic sales of US $ 315 billion and exports of US $ 185 billion. The current industry size comprises domestic market of US $ 68 billion and exports of US $ 40 billion. This will also catalyse another 35 million jobs and US $ 200 billion of investments, as per a study report by leading textile and polyester consulting firms Wazir Advisors and PCI Xylenes & Polyesters, stated Prashant Agarwal, Wazir Advisors Joint Managing Director.
