
In the first eight months of the current year, export of legwear from India to the European Union has increased despite slow market conditions there. During the period under review, the category registered a year on year surge of 27.02 per cent to Euro 18.79 million in the value and 32.23 per cent to 1.48 million kgs in volume of the exports to the European Union.
During the period under review, total imports of the leg wear by European Union increased by 3.62 per cent to Euro 1.3 billion year on year. Also, the volumes of the category increased by 8.36 per cent to 125.9 million kgs during the first eight-month period this year.

In the meantime, Indian exports of leg wear to the US also registered a year on year increase by 1.49 per cent to US $ 12. 04 million despite US’ cumulative import of the category registering (-) 9.70 per cent decline to US $ 1.29 billion during the period.
