
A global player in land, sea, and air logistics solutions, the CMA CGM Group has recently announced the launch of the first-ever shipping service between Bangladesh and BIGEX (India Gulf Express) even as the service will debut as the fastest direct shipping service that connects Bangladesh to Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi as well as Mundra and Nhava Sheva in India.
Media reports claimed this even as speaking to the media, the senior vice president of CMA CGM (Middle East Gulf, Indian-Sub-Continent, Indian Ocean Islands, and Southern & East Africa), Xavier Eiglier underlined that historically, sea trade between the Indian subcontinent and Gulf countries has been instrumental in the development of what would later become one of the world’s most dynamic regions even if the recently signed India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and the ongoing free trade pact discussions between India and the GCC he felt will strengthen the economic ties between these regions.
It may be mentioned here gulf region is gaining significance from the perspective of the Bangladesh’s apparel makers lately.
