The latest garments and accessories import figures released by the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) say the country has seen 21.30 per cent surge in January-October ’20 period as compared to the same period of 2019.
In the mentioned period, China imported US $ 7.31 billion worth of garments and related accessories.
However, after registering the highest monthly growth of 2020 in import values in September, China dropped by 15.15 per cent in October ’20 against September ’20 to import US $ 856.98 million worth of garments and accessories.
As far as import of textile product by China is concerned, it fell down by 8.30 per cent in January-October ’20 period on Y-o-Y basis.
The textile products’ shipment entering to China was valued US $ 11.39 billion, out of which textile yarns contributed US $ 4.83 billion and fell by 0.80 per cent on yearly note.
Fabrics and other textile products shared the remaining value – US $ 6.56 billion and plunged by over 9 per cent from the same period of 2019.
Particularly in October ’20, textile products’ shipment valued at US $ 1.08 billion and was down by 6.08 per cent on M-o-M basis.
