
Bangladesh’s apex garment makers’ body, The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), has sought support from Sweden to pursue its efforts towards ensuring sustainable growth through innovation, technology transfer and product diversification.
The call to this end was, reportedly, made when the Ambassador of Sweden to Bangladesh Alex Berg von Linde called on BGMEA President Faruque Hassan at the latter’s office in Dhaka even as the BGMEA chair, reportedly, underlined Bangladesh garment industry is aspiring to enhance its competitiveness through diversifying products, upgrading technologies, adopting innovative production solutions and developing skills of its workforce, while also adding Bangladesh and Sweden have considerable scopes for deriving mutual benefits by strengthening and expanding collaboration in various potential areas of trade and investment.
As per reports, the BGMEA has invited Alex Berg von Linde to the ‘Made in Bangladesh Week’, to be held this November, showcasing the prospects and strengths of the RMG industry.
