
Anwar Group is investing Taka 48 billion to set up three new factories, including a denim unit, which are expected to provide employment to some 6,700 people.
Media reports claimed this citing Anwar Group Chairman Manwar Hossain in this direction, according to whom the new denim unit along with steel and paper factories in Munshiganj are expected to go into production by the fiscal year 2025-26.
The denim unit of the Group will, reportedly, initially produce 2.5 million gauges of fabric and the production capacity is expected to rise to 4.5 million gauges after the investment of another Taka 8 billion even as speaking to media, Manwar Hossain, said, “Hopefully, we will be able to initiate the first phase of production in the denim factory in 2023 or 2024.”
