In a move that many feel could address the current power scenario and normalise the existing situation, Bangladesh expects to add around 1,500 megawatts (MW) of electricity to the national grid by this month.
This is as per media reports, which citing the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) officials, maintained some power plants are being constructed in different areas to this end and if these plants start generating electricity within the stipulated time, it will help meet the demand for power to a great extent.
It may be mentioned here that industries in Bangladesh have had to deal with power shortage recently including the apparel manufacturers, which has even hit the production capacities.
