The apex garment makers’ body in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, has maintained that there’s ample opportunity for Bangladesh and Japan to further engage in trade and investment for mutual benefits.
Media reports maintained this adding, the observation was made by the BGMEA President when Japanese Ambassador in Dhaka ITO Naoki, reportedly, called on Faruque Hassan recently.
At the view-exchange meeting in which was also present Japan embassy First Secretary Haruta Hiroki apart from BGMEA Vice-Presidents Miran Ali and Shahidullah Azim and BGMEA Director Asif Ashraf, ITO Naoki and Faruque Hassan, reportedly, discussed possible ways of expanding trade between the two countries and deepening the relationship between the two even if both of them recognised the need to remove the existing trade barriers to facilitate more trade and investment.
