Even as the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war has adversely impacted Bangladesh’s apparel exports to Russia, it was trying to cover up for the same through increased exports in other markets.
This was, reportedly, maintained by the BGMEA President, who, reportedly, underlined the industry was facing pressure due to the Russia-Ukraine war, but expect to recover from it soon.
“…Russia is an emerging market for us where we expect annual exports worth US $ 1 billion. But that target will be difficult to meet,” reportedly, claimed Faruque Hassan addressing a press meet recently while adding the industry was trying to recover from the same through trade with other markets.
Faruque further, reportedly, maintained the garment makers’ body has also been lobbying with the influential bodies in USA and Europe so that the export grows in the near future.
