A delegation from the Bangladesh Army visited the BKMEA (Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association) office in Dhaka on Thursday for a courtesy call on President Mohammad Hatem. The delegation was led by Brigadier General Md. Aminur Rahman, Director of the Veteran Directorate at Army Headquarters.
During the meeting, Brigadier General Rahman emphasized the potential benefits of utilizing retired army officers and soldiers in the Ready-Made Garments (RMG) sector. He noted that various training programs offered by BKMEA could enhance the skills of these individuals, contributing significantly to capacity building within the industry. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of BKMEA’s role in creating job opportunities for both veterans and their children, who could become valuable assets to the sector with the right training and support.
BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem echoed these sentiments, stating that the talent and discipline of retired military personnel could significantly benefit the RMG sector. He expressed pride in the opportunity to work with retired army members and their families, believing that they could help elevate the industry to new heights. Hatem assured that BKMEA is fully prepared to provide any necessary cooperation to facilitate this collaboration.
