Apparel, Made-Ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AHM SSC) has been formulated by the Ministry of Textiles, AEPC and NSDC to develop a Skills repository for Apparel value chain; National Occupational Standards in the industry; establish a well-structured sector-specific Labour Market Information System; and improvise the training delivery value chain, including third party assessments and certifications. The Council has been given a target of certifying more than 2 million persons by 2022.
AMH SSC was incorporated on December 24, 2013 by the Indian Government to develop industry standards, evaluate criterion, and provide multiple and varied technical skills in the textile sector to both men and women, as well as challenged persons.
