
A three-person team from the well-known Bangladeshi apparel maker AKH Group paid a campus visit to the National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research (NITER) in order to discuss possible joint venture prospects.
The AKH delegation comprised Aruna Wijerathne, Chief Human Resource Officer; Md. Rashed Khan, Sr. Manager (HRD); and Md. Rajib Hossain, Sr. Officer (HRD). The visit aimed to discuss possibilities of providing industrial visits, internships, and job opportunities for NITER students. The delegates also expressed interest in organizing workshops and seminars to help students develop job-ready skills.
The NITER Director, Professor Dr. Mohammad Junaebur Rashid, greeted the participants and expressed his excitement about building a solid and productive partnership between business and academics. Attending the conference were the convener of the Career and Internship Resource Initiative (CRIR), as well as the heads of the departments of Textile Engineering, Fashion Design and Apparel Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Fashion Design.
A tour of NITER’s laboratories provided the participants with a final opportunity to see the institute’s resources and facilities up close. This visit is a positive beginning for AKH Group and NITER’s cooperative cooperation, which might help Bangladesh’s textile sector as well as students.
