Urmi Group has marked a significant milestone in its sustainability journey by recycling 321 tonnes of fabric waste in 2024, a remarkable increase from 64 tonnes in the previous year. This achievement underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to advancing circularity in the textile industry.
The milestone was celebrated during the renewal of Urmi Group’s strategic partnership with Reverse Resources (RR), a global leader in digital solutions for textile waste traceability and circularity. The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at Urmi Group’s headquarters in Dhaka.
The MoU signing was attended by Faiaz Rahman, Director of Urmi Group; Marius Golden, COO of Reverse Resources; along with other key representatives including ABM Faqrul Alam, Sustainability Lead at Urmi Group; Mumit Hasan, Director of Business & Operations, Bangladesh; and Ahmed Ali, Business & Operations Manager at Reverse Resources.
Faiaz Rahman expressed pride in the group’s progress, stating, “This renewed partnership with Reverse Resources reflects our unwavering commitment to innovation, sustainability, and responsible business practices. Circularity isn’t just an option, it’s the future of textiles, and we are proud to lead the way.”
Marius Golden highlighted Urmi Group’s leadership in the industry, saying, “Urmi Group continues to set a benchmark in Bangladesh’s garment sector with their dedication to circularity and transparency. Their efforts are an inspiring example for the industry both locally and globally.”
Urmi Group’s expanding commitment to textile circularity aligns with its broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, aiming to create long-term value while reducing environmental impact across its entire supply chain.
