European online fashion and lifestyle platform Zalando, in collaboration with Copenhagen Fashion Week, has announced that clothing brand STAMM has won the AW23 Zalando Sustainability Award.
The jury was particularly impressed by STAMM’s use of eco-friendly materials such as recycled material in its jackets and Indian khadi, a traditional fabric made from hand-spun organic cotton.
Creative Director of STAMM Elisabet STAMM, commenting on the win said, “Being chosen as the winner of the Zalando Sustainability Award is both magical and motivating. It is a celebration of a young brand driven by innovation, diversity, and aesthetic expression with a conscientious mindset. We are proud to be part of such an important and purposeful platform and to have the opportunity to connect with industry leaders. Winning this award will allow us to expand our network and continue to work toward positive change. I also hope to inspire others to create with purpose and believe in sharing across borders.”
STAMM will receive a prize of € 20,000 and the opportunity to work with Zalando to design an exclusive collection that uses the most innovative and eco-friendly design solutions in terms of materials, production processes, technology, and traceability.
The FW23 collection, presented at Copenhagen Fashion Week, will be available on Zalando and made available to customers in all European markets where the company is currently active.
Lena Sophie Röper, Head of Design and Luxury at Zalando, says: “We are delighted to announce STAMM as the fifth winner of the Zalando Sustainability Award. The craftsmanship and embroidery on the leather goods as well as the complexity of the tailoring of the jackets were the highlights. We look forward to working with STAMM to produce a capsule collection that explores alternative design solutions and innovative ideas.”
