Global sourcing solution, Sourcery has revealed a line-up of Grower Partners for the upcoming Cotton Season 23/24 in India and introduced its Provisional Partnership Programme, inviting 10 spinners to join its Direct-to-Grower Programme towards sustainable cotton production.
The Grower Partners taking part in this initiative are:
- Amiha Agro, a promoter of sustainable farming products.
- Delight Group produces and sources organic and sustainable raw, processed ingredients around the world.
- Basil Commodities is a cotton ginning, trading and raw cotton export company that contributes to the sustainable development of the Cotton industry.
- OM Organic specialises in cotton manufacturing.
Through Sourcery’s Direct-to-Grower Programme, each company has committed to a multi-year collaboration with Sourcery, focused on enhancing commercial and environmental practises throughout their cotton operations.
Sourcery anticipates that in the forthcoming season, about 10,000 metric tonnes (equivalent to 60,600 Indian cotton bales) of cotton will be offered for sale thanks to collaboration with these partners and farm-level support for over 10,000 growers. Verified grower data, including details on farms, procedures, transactions, and traceability, will be included with this cotton.
Crispin Argento, managing director of Sourcery, praised the organisations and said, “Through Direct-to-Grower, they are redefining what sustainability means when it comes to quality, integrity, transparency, and social and environmental impact in cotton.”
In addition, Sourcery is introducing its Provisional Partner Programme, which allows up to 10 spinners to join without making an initial financial commitment, to help these Growers Partners and the growers who support them.
As part of its effort to develop into a digital trade platform for the world’s cotton industry, Sourcery intends to broaden its Direct-to-Grower programme and make the Sourcery Connect app available to the general public.
