Global sourcing solution Sourcery has launched an Impact and Assurance programme that is said to offer transparent and traceable primary data collection within the cotton value chain.
According to Sourcery, their transparency initiative provides the cotton value chain with primary data that is verified by a third party and is relevant to a given location.
It continued by saying that its programme seeks to change the way that people think about sustainable cotton by giving manufacturers, grower associations, and producers access to data.
The Sourcery Connect App, created in collaboration with Bluenumber, which gives data unique digital identities, is said to enable the company’s programme to collect verified primary data in a more reliable, accurate, secure, equitable, and scalable manner.
The Impact and Assurance Programme is said to be an essential part of Sourcery’s Direct-to-Grower Programme and will be rolled out globally over three years in multiple phases.
According to Sourcery, their strategy enables the authenticity of the materials and fibre origin of products to be strengthened. In a world where climate change and economic uncertainty are hurting producers and everyone upstream in the supply chain, it guarantees compliance with current and new legislation and satisfies grower demands.
According to reports, the initiative will help strengthen agricultural and financial resilience, which will raise the price of cotton (fabric, yarn, and fibre) in the end.
