In a troubling incident, over a hundred workers fell ill after consuming a factory-provided meal at Baraka Fashion Limited in Tongi, Gazipur. According to Gazipur Industrial Police-2 Inspector Md Ismail Hossain, 70 of the affected workers have been hospitalized.
The incident occurred around 9:00 PM on Thursday, 23rd January. Following the outbreak of illness, the factory was closed for the night. Local sources reported that the facility employs approximately 1,100 workers.
The sick individuals were transported to Gutia International Medical College Hospital for treatment. Authorities are investigating the cause of the mass illness to ensure the safety and well-being of the remaining workers.
