Saiham Knit Composite, a t-shirt manufacturer in Hobiganj region of Bangladesh has achieved the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification under new construction category of US Green Building Council. The factory situated on a 44,971.38 sq. feet building has taken steps to reduce use of water, save energy by efficient light design and rainwater harvesting. According to a statement, supplying products to H&M, M&S, and Mother Care and ECG, the Saiham factory also has sewerage treatment plant and hot water module to reduce gas usage and condensation of steam to form water and use it in production process.
