Reliance Industries Limited’s R|Elan™ is all set to make a return to FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week with the launch of its new biodegradable R|Elan™ EcoGold offering and will partner with well-known designer duo Gauri & Nainika to present an eco-friendly collection titled Midnight Botanica.
Though R|Elan™ is already well-known for its eco-friendly recycled fabrics that are made entirely from post-consumer (waste) plastic bottles, the designers Gauri & Nainika are particularly thrilled to be using fabrics that are bio-degradable, a first for R|Elan™.
In a statement, the company informed that the presentation will marry the elegant and romantic design sensibilities by Gauri & Nainika to the sustainable offerings of R|Elan’s sought-after fabric collections.
In a bid to drive the green fashion movement across the fashion world, the line was created using eco-friendly, sustainable fabrics from R|Elan™, including R|Elan™ GreenGold & R|Elan™ EcoGold along with R|Elan™ FreeFlow.
R|Elan™ GreenGold, one of the greenest fabrics, is made from 100 per cent post-consumer used PET bottles deploying efficient and certified manufacturing practices.
R|Elan™ EcoGold fabrics are bio-enhanced to break down into natural elements and plays a crucial role in saving fashion waste from piling in landfills.
Lastly, R|Elan™ FreeFlow fabrics have been created to add elegance and give a luxurious flow to garments.
