
US-based fashion company, PVH Corporation was recently honoured by Fashion 4 Development (F4D), as it awarded the brand’s Chief Risk Officer, Melanie Steiner with the Leading Lady Award at its Annual First Ladies Luncheon.
The luncheon was hosted at the Pierre Hotel to celebrate the unmatched partnership between diplomacy and fashion for the betterment during the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly.
It is important to add here that, F4D is a private sector international platform that promotes positive social transformation with initiatives in more than 20 countries and builds upon the core leadership principles of the 4Es: Educate, Empower, Enhance and Enrich.
Fashion 4 Development understood the fashion industry as a unifying force that can jointly boost positive strategies for sustainable economic growth which can lead to a healthier world, preservation of culture and empowerment of women and children.
Melanie Steiner was quoted as saying at the event that, “It has been quite a journey to get here. In a strange way, my true passions and interests in life have completely converged in my role at the company, from my passion for animals and nature to my passion for diversity, inclusion and women’s empowerment, and last but not least, my love of fashion.”
Furthermore, the award showcases her commitment towards corporate responsibility, which complements one of the world’s largest fashion company’s vision to make positive impacts in the communities where it does business. “I feel fortunate that my position at the brand has allowed me to make an impact in all of these areas, and to do what I love every day,” Steiner added.
PVH Corp’s CRO was honoured along with British singer Ellie Goulding, Hollywood actors Amber Heard, Carmen Busquets, Edwina Dunn, Francine LeFrak, Stuart McCullough and Fabiola Beracasa.
