Primark’s supply chain staff will receive additional circular design education thanks to a partnership with the Circular Textiles Foundation. In this sense, end-of-life recycling ought to have been considered when designing Primark apparel.
By 2027, Primark claims to have established a target of having the majority of its apparel line easily recyclable. It is frequently easier to recycle an object in the long term when design considerations are made for its ability to be recycled.
Tim Cross, Founder of Circular Textile Foundation said in the press release, “We hope that by working with Primark, we can take a step closer to driving industry-wide change. We look forward to Primark partnering with us on this journey and the opportunities to move forward.”
In addition to Primark’s design teams, some employees of Primark’s suppliers will also receive the new training that Primark is putting up with the assistance of the Circular Textiles Foundation. The design teams at Primark have received training before. Prior to this, 500 staff participated in a Circular Design Training that was organised in association with Circle Economy, according to a news statement.
