In Haryana, the administration is taking steps to control pollution created by the textile industry.
Haryana Pollution Control Board has mandatory online monitoring of boilers up to 3 tonnes or more. Instructions for the same have been issued to the industry also. The monitoring of the same will be done by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) from Delhi and Chandigarh.
The factories, not following this instruction, will be closed.
Panipat, Gurugram, Faridabad and Sonipat are leading textile and apparel hubs of Haryana. Thousands of textile and apparel factories use boilers here. Many of them have boilers with a capacity of more than 3 tonnes.
As Panipat is the most polluted district of the state, the pollution control department will have a special focus on the district.
The pollution control department had recently taken few steps to control pollution, but owing to hurdles it could not achieve desired results. The department is now actively working in this regard.
