The Odisha government will now give its handloom items top priority in both retail and digital marketing. Together with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and the Union Ministry of Commerce, the State’s Handloom, Textiles, and Handicrafts Department intends to develop a thorough marketing plan. The goal of this project is to spread awareness of Odisha’s rich handicraft and handloom traditions around the world.
During a two-day review workshop, field officials representing the state’s handloom, textile, and handicraft industries decided to step up their digital marketing efforts. Aditi Sinha, the vice president of ONDC, gave thorough insights on utilising digital platforms throughout the workshop’s extensive discussions on “Digital Marketing.”
Guha Punam Tapas Kumar, Divisional Commissioner and Administrative Secretary, underlined that this project will support the economic growth of the state’s weavers and craftspeople in addition to showcasing Odisha’s cultural heritage. He called on all officials to continue to be committed to accomplishing this common objective.
The different government programs for the growth of the handicraft industry and their implementation methodologies were explained to officers from each of the 30 districts. The collective development of artisans operating in various handicraft hubs throughout the state was the subject of in-depth discussions. The department’s “Common Amenity Centres” and “Handicraft Tourism Centres” management standards were also covered at the session.
Initiatives of the Odisha Handicraft Museum-Arts and the State Handicraft Development Organisation were presented, emphasising attempts to advance and grow the industry. Furthermore, the potential and assistance offered by “Utkalika” for the marketing of handicrafts were brought to light.
