MCL Global and the European Outdoor Group have launched an exclusive on-line resource, www.textilestandards.com replete with information on over 70 textile sustainability labels, regulation and standards. The new Textile Standards & Legislation (TSL) website has all the elements of the long-established Eco-Textile Labelling Guide from MCL, along with the online SIGNS tool developed by the European Outdoor Group, and its members.
The new online resource that has been written and designed by industry experts and leading textile journalists allows the textile supply chain to access key information on over 70 voluntary and mandatory global social, environmental textile standards and legal requirements. The most impressive aspect of the online-resource, www.textilestandards.com, is that all information is available at one place. Completely searchable by different criteria,
TSL keeps an eye on changes and updates them within 24 hours.
The content on the website is highly analytical and discuss subjects like full range of third party voluntary textile standards, mandatory regulations, management standards, the key frameworks that impacts sustainability and social compliance in the supply chain.
The regular subscribers of the Eco-Textile Labelling Guide web-site and European Outdoor Group member companies will be given complete access to the new website.
John Mowbray, Founder and Director, MCL Global said, “Since we have a longstanding and positive relationship with the European Outdoor Group on sustainability initiatives, it was natural that both organisations would work together on the creation of the new Textile Standards and Legislation website. Combining the best elements of our well-known Eco-Textile Labelling Guide and the EOG’s online SIGNS tool has now resulted in a powerful new web portal by two leading organisations that have sustainability embedded into their DNA.
“Our original SIGNS online platform was created back in 2011 by EOG members with the intent of closing an information and knowledge gap that existed in the industry. Both our organisations have sustainability values embedded, and the fact that this collaborative work is now accessible to the textile, sports and outdoor industry at large is a great step forward,” he further elaborated.
In addition, MCL Global will publish a snapshot of the on-line content, which will also be available to subscribers in the form of an 84 page printed booklet. The printed edition is also being supported by Messe Frankfurt – a long time partner of MCL Global on environmental and social compliance in the global textile industry.
