Forbes magazine has teamed up with market research firm Statista to draw up a ranking of the world’s best companies for women in 2023.
Forbes magazine lists these businesses as having a mission that is in line with women’s empowerment, flexible work schedules, parental leave options, and skill development initiatives.
Marks & Spencer was the first fashion industry company to be listed in the ranking. The Swedish fashion giant H&M, which employs 106,522 people, trailed closely after the British retail chain, which ranks sixth with over 72,000 employees. After that, Intersport finished in eighth position, Adidas in tenth, and the PHV group in twenty-seventh. Zalando came in at number 35.
Chanel trailed far behind, placing 65th, and was followed by Gap. The first luxury company to emerge in the ranking is the French brand, which is owned by the Wertheimer brothers. Hermès, another luxury brand from France, comes in at number 81.
The two organisations polled almost 70,000 women who worked for multinational corporations in 37 countries to create this list. In addition to rating the company on general workplace practises and gender-related issues, such as pay equity between men and women, handling of employee discrimination cases, and whether men and women have equal opportunities for promotion, participants were asked if they would recommend their employer to friends or family.
