Lawsuit has begun in Germany over the Baldia factory fire tragedy that had rocked Pakistan back in 2012.
A German court is now hearing the civil suit against the German textile firm, KiK, that once produced apparels in the Pakistan factory.
The devastating fire had killed over 250 people.
Reportedly, a survivor of the tragedy along with his 3 relatives are demanding a compensation of € 30,000 from Kik for the damages.
The German textile firm has, however, refuted the charges and said that the case is much beyond the statute of limitations for a suit to be filed.
Six years back, on 11 September 2012, fire broke in the factory basement and soon engulfed all three floors resulting in the disaster. Several emergency exits inside the building got permanently blocked.
Reportedly, the owners of the factory have been consistently claiming in their judicial testimonies that the fire mishap was not due to poor maintenance of the factory building, but was, instead, ignited by extortionists.
