Members of Bangladesh’s labour rights organisations and the leaders of the country’s apex garment manufacturers’ body have expressed willingness to continue the ongoing collaboration and cooperation with the aim to maintain harmonious industrial relations in the greater interest of the country’s apparel sector, which is considered the lifeline of Bangladesh’s economy.
According to a press release issued in this direction by the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), several years of hard work and dedication of workers and entrepreneurs have brought Bangladesh’s apparel industry to a better position globally, adding maintaining sound relations between the employers and workers through effective engagement and discussions will only help the industry to carry forward its achievements and keep the growth momentum going.
The labour leaders and the BGMEA officials, reportedly, came up with these observations following a meeting at the BGMEA office recently.
