With the help of its suppliers Jiaren Chemical Recycling and NBC LLC, Hugo Boss has unveiled NovaPoly, describing it as “an innovative recycled polyester yarn.”
The German luxury fashion giant stated that it plans to set new benchmarks in the industry and will hold exclusive rights to the NovaPoly trademark for the first year. However, it also aims to eventually license the innovative fiber to other fashion brands to broaden its industry reach.
In October, the first Boss Green goods with NovaPoly will be introduced worldwide as part of its Boss The Change campaign. Additionally, the yarn will be incorporated into a few performancewear items for SS26.
NovaPoly is made using textile waste sourced from both post-consumer use and garment manufacturing processes. It is further enhanced with a natural additive that replicates how fibers break down in the environment, making the material degradable.
It supports the company’s strategic goal of combatting microplastics and enhances its ongoing efforts to create substitutes for polyester and polyamide fibres, which the company has already accomplished in collaboration with HeiQ AeoniQ.
