HeiQ, Switzerland based textile innovator, recently added new products to their HeiQ Fresh family, with a full range of odour control technologies including silver-free to recycled silver salt options.
The textile giant has offered new odour control solutions for those brands who are seeking to reduce or remove silver usage from their products. Besides this, all the products in the HeiQ fresh family are bluesign® certified or in the approval process.
HeiQ Fresh FFL, a non antimicrobial alternative to traditional odour control in textiles, is bio-based amino sugar polymer that is silver free. There are five precursors, bacteria, warmth, fat and protein from sweat, moisture and the textile surface, that cause odour. By eliminating one of these, the sweat odour is eradicated.
The HeiQ Fresh FFL, a biopolymer, removes the fat and protein from the sweat, therefore eliminating the ability of the bacteria to grow. It not only binds to the fibre, which allows odour to be easily washed off at low temperatures but also prevents permastink. With the help of this bio-polymer, brands obtain silver free odourcontrol that is not a biocide but still preserves the fabrics freshness.
“We are excited to offer less-silver and silver-free options to our HeiQ Fresh family. Humans are among the most social animals and wish to be close to each other. Body odouron our clothes or home fabrics prevents us from close gatherings. Thus, we are delighted to add on more options in HeiQ fresh family.” – Christian von Uthmann, Chief Sales Officer, HeiQ Materials AG
It is worth mentioning that, HeiQ Fresh FFL can be used on both cellulosic and synthetic fibres. The flexibility of application of HeiQ Fresh FFL can be done through either exhaust or padding which means that brands can apply it freely on different fibre and product design, including seamless garments.
