Grasim Industries (part of Aditya Birla group) has topped the 2021 Capri Global Capital Hurun India Impact 50 with the highest sustainability score.
This list of top 50 companies, headquartered in India, have been ranked based on their alignment with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
With a cumulative sustainability score of 47, Grasim Industries contributed towards 17 SDGs last year.
Overall, only 14 companies, featured in 2021 Capri Global Capital Hurun India Impact 50, reported their sustainability goals against all 17 UN SDG pillars.
Grasim is India’s pioneer in Viscose Staple Fibre (VSF) — a man-made, bio-degradable fibre that is fast emerging as a sustainable alternative to cotton. It is also the largest viscose filament yarn (VFY) manufacturer in India and the third largest globally.
There is no other specific textile company in this list of top 50 companies.
