Esprit Apparels Ltd., a prominent player in the country’s apparel manufacturing sector, has proudly earned the prestigious LEED Platinum certification from the US Green Building Council (USGBC) under the LEED BD+C: New Construction v4 rating system. Scoring an impressive 101 points, the factory’s achievement marks a significant milestone for Bangladesh’s apparel industry and underscores its commitment to sustainable manufacturing.
Bangladesh continues to cement its position as a global hub for sustainable apparel manufacturing, with over 68 of the world’s top 100 LEED-certified factories located within the country. Notably, nine of the top 10 and 18 of the top 20 LEED factories worldwide are based in Bangladesh, reflecting the nation’s leadership in environmentally responsible production.
Industry insiders anticipate this momentum will persist, with approximately 550 factories currently in the pipeline for LEED certification. This robust growth signals a strong collective commitment among Bangladeshi manufacturers to adopt green building practices and contribute to a more sustainable and responsible global supply chain.
