ECOPURE®, the first commercially available innovative pH-balanced polyester material that does not irritate human skin, is a polyester fabric inheriting a mildly acidic pH level for healthy skin and a principle material for high performance sportswear, general apparel and other applications. The polyester fibre undergoes a permanent modification process by creating localized hydrophilic properties and slight acidity on the surface with no change in the inherent properties of the polyester polymer. The mild acidity of the fabric controls the growth of selective unhealthy bacteria and at the same time promoting breeding of some beneficial bacteria, thereby maintaining healthy skin and providing UV protection. The hydrophilic properties enable absorption of perspiration and neutralize the acidic properties on washing.
