Brazilian fashion brand Farm Rio is all set to launch its first resale programme, Farm Rio Closet to Closet, which is powered by online resale platform ThredUp and social commerce marketplace Poshmark. With this program, the brand aims at sustainable waste management by cutting down on waste going to landfills.
Through this programme, customers will be able to sync their Farm Rio purchase history to Poshmark. Once the syncing happens, the listings will be automatically created with product photos and descriptions, eliminating the need for manually uploading photos and other details. Customers will be only required to approve their listings before it goes live and with their piece sold, the proceeds will be directed to the seller.
Apart from Poshmark, this programme will also allow the customers to send their clothing, provided they are still in a good condition, to ThredUp at no cost. The Farm Rio customers will be able to do so by generating a prepaid shipping label and by filling the shippable bag or box with clothing and other purchases, and finally sending it to ThredUp. With this process, the customer will even receive a Farm Rio gift card based on the reselling by ThredUp.
As of now, however, this program is only limited to the US market but the brand plans to include other markets in the future.
