Denim manufacturers in Bangladesh are not very upbeat about the prices received from the buyers despite investing heavily in sustainable denim manufacturing even as they bear the costs associated with lowering water and carbon emissions with many of them even boasting of reducing the amount of water used for washing per kg of denim to 10 litres from 360 litres currently.
This is as per reports, which maintained the manufacturers underlined this at the sidelines of the 14th edition of Bangladesh Denim Expo 2023, being held in the capital Dhaka recently even as they reportedly underlined that climate change is a concern for everyone, but the manufacturers are having to bear the costs associated with lowering water and carbon emissions.
However, they have reportedly expressed hopes the situation will change if they would be able to raise awareness amongst global consumers pertaining to the same.
