Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) sector has further strengthened its position as a global leader in green manufacturing, with three more factories earning certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
With the latest additions, the country now has 261 factories certified under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. Of these, 109 hold Platinum ratings, 133 are Gold-certified, and 15 have achieved Silver.
The newly certified factories, Faisal Spinning Mills Limited Units 1, 2, and 3 are located in Madhabpur, Habiganj. Each unit achieved LEED Silver certification under the BD+C: New Construction v4 rating system, securing 58 points.
Industry insiders say the achievement highlights the RMG sector’s commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmentally responsible operations.
