
Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce will set up new Expo Centres in the cities of Islamabad, Quetta and Faisalabad.
Abdul Razzaq Dawood, Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce, informed the NA committee recently about this decision.
The Standing Committee on Commerce and Textile met not only for a briefing on ministry but also to analyse the 2019-20 budgetary proposals of commerce and textile division. The meeting was presided by Syed Naveed Qamar, MNA/Chairman.
The commerce division proposed an allocation of Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) fund of Rs. 7538 million for the financial year 2019-20 to set up new Expo Centres at Quetta, Islamabad and Faisalabad. This was informed by the Secretary, Commerce Division.
He also said that following the approval and subsequent release of funds, the projects will be completed on stipulated time.
Besides the new Expo Centres, there are also plans of remodelling the Karachi Expo Centre as well as provision of hostel, parking building and security infrastructure at Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design, Lahore and Karachi.
