With a range of over 40,000 different spare parts and nearly 700 models of machines from 28 international brands, Navyug Sewing Machine Co. Ltd. is slowly emerging as a clear winner amongst technology suppliers for sewing machines and spare parts. The man behind this success, H.S. Passricha, has taken the company from a humble beginning to 300 dealers strong from all over India.
Set up in 1976 and with over 30 years of experience behind it, Navyug is today an accredited establishment with the Govt. of India and enjoys the status of a Public Limited company since 2001. Founder H.S. Passricha strongly believes that inspiration and hard work, no doubt essential to any company’s success, however, favour only the trained and intelligent mind. “No one can predict the heights one can soar to until you spread your wings”, says H.S. Passricha.

With growing competition within the technology market, supplemented by a slowdown in the apparel industry not only in India, but worldwide, more and more suppliers are today struggling to stay afloat. Despite the grappling situation, Navyug is strong and is committed to providing its clientele with the best quality sewing machines, accessories, spare parts, attachments and fabric cutting machines. The company has fostered ties with some of the most popular technology brands and the best of international machine and allied products manufacturers.
The heart of Navyug’s marketing strategy is to promote, improve and maintain customer satisfaction. “We are constantly striving towards meeting expectations of the market through delivery of high quality and technologically upgraded machines and equipment of international standards,” says H.S. Passricha. The company prides in its facilities capable of giving deliveries 24X7 to its customers. In fact, the delivery time for Delhi is actually within 2 hours! However, if it is an out-of-station delivery, the company guarantees a despatch on the same day from their end.

To cater to the needs of the highly demanding garment industry, the company has set up an extensive dealer network of over 300 dealers spread across the country, particularly with a stronghold in Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Indore, Jaipur and Tirupur, besides having a strong presence in Haryana, Punjab and UP. The company has also tied up with dealers in Nepal to reach out to the growing apparel industry in the region. “However, the core market for the company’s products is in Delhi and Ludhiana,” H.S. Passricha highlights.
Navyug is presently representing some of the best technologies from not only Asia but also USA and Germany. Some of the sewing machinery companies being represented by Navyug are Pegasus, Taking, Jack, Siruba, Glory and Spenti. The brands represented for spare parts and allied products include Golden Eagle, Yano, Onkyo, Fish, Winner, Haya, Quingtian, Sage and Golden Pigeon. Currently, the company offers more than 40,000 different types of spare parts and nearly 700 models of sewing and embroidery machines. In fact, to hold stocks of such a huge range of products, Navyug has 4 warehouses spread over a combined area of a whopping 45,000 sq ft.

In a move to expand its product line, Navyug has recently ventured into embroidery machines. In a newly built unit in New Delhi, the company has put on display a wide range of high-speed and high-efficiency computer controlled multi head embroidery machines by the best of manufacturers from across the world. On show are about 60 models and approximately 5000 varieties of spares from 6 countries.
H.S. Passricha, even though known as a tough businessman in the industry, has, through his compassion and recognition of the role played by the employees of his company, gained immense respect from all that work for him. He firmly believes that the workforce of a company is a vital resource for its growth and should not be neglected. Today Navyug employs a staff of over 100 people, which besides being provided an ideal work environment, also offers thoughtful facilities such as meals at negligible charges thrice a day to all its employees.
Another quality of H.S. Passricha which makes him highly respected is the appreciation and acknowledgement he shows to not only his employees but also his dealers all over India. The company regularly organizes general meets for all to come with families and interact not only with each other, but also representatives of the companies whose products they sell. At a recently concluded General Meet, organized by the company in Bangalore to coincide with the GTE event, Navyug flew in all its dealers from various parts of the country to the city. Other than giving them the opportunity to first-hand experience, one of the country’s largest technology events, the company also organized a cultural meet where they were appreciated for their contribution towards making Navvug a successful enterprise.
“The most important outcome of the meet is the goodwill that we have been able to generate within our fraternity,” reflected H.S. Passricha. He further observes, “The event gave a chance to each one of us to get to know our business associates with whom such kind of interaction becomes impossible due to geographical differences.”
Navyug also prides in being a patron member of International Red Cross. The company is a regular contributer to the cause and encourages not only its employees, but also its dealers to do their part. Every month the company shows support to its employees that want to contribute part of their income to the cause by encouraging them to donate Re 1 per every Rs.1000 they are paid. The dealers are also persuaded to follow the same path. On its part, by the end of the month, the company contributes an equal amount to the sum collected and then donates the money.
Today, Navyug is actively striving to create a unique experience for its customers. Supported by a dedicated staff, a qualified and experienced team of after sales personnel and a chain of dealers spread all over India, the company guarantees the best of service to the industry. The wide choice in product range to cater to the needs of both large as well as small manufacturers has supplemented its rapid rise. “We are a company that holds the customer in highest value,” says H.S. Passricha. “No doubt the market conditions keep changing, but that is only variable to the success of our business. Our success is more due to the relationships that we have built not only with those that work for and with us, but also our customers,” he concludes.
