In the past many textile companies have used forward integration as a strategy for expansion with some finding success, while others have not been able to give the same thrust to garmenting leading to a few closures also. However, there is no doubt that forward integration is definitely a way forward for textile companies and many of them are looking at the route for growth. The latest to join the bandwagon is Jodhpur based Kiren Textiles having the experience of 43 years in textile printing and processing.
The company has recently started its garmenting unit in Jaipur manufacturing ladies garments for exports as well as domestic market. Preferring to invest in a running unit, the company has added some new infrastructure to a factory they have purchased to suit their needs. “We have earned a good reputation as well as a deep understanding of the garmenting business by our world class printing facility being used by many big exporters, domestic brands and designers like, Ritu Wears, Kalamkari, RMX Joss and many more. Confident of handling the segment we initiated our garmenting company Koelle Design in Sitapura industrial area where we have a huge unit in 30,000 square feet. Initially we have started with 70 machines, but we have already a clear-cut expansion plan and a budget of Rs. 50 lakh dedicated to the expansion,” informs GM Singhvi, a printing expert and soft spoken MD of the company. The company is exporting to the US and Europe while also working to get orders from other markets like Japan and Brazil. The company has been working for Westside and Max in the domestic market and getting repeat orders from them.
