Escott Apparels, a Noida-based company that offers knitted fabric and digital printing services, will further expand its digital printing capacity soon.
Working as a job worker for digital printing, Escott Apparels currently has a printing capacity of 1,500 metres per day. The company now plans to more than double it print production to nearly 4,000 metres per day.
Treating digital printing as a commodity rather than a fashion product to get volume orders, Sanjay Jain, Director of the company told Apparel Resources, “Our expansion will take place soon. As we have already got the good infrastructure for pre- and post-processing services, increased capacity will further help us serve our clients better.”
Though Sanjay did not disclose the investment being made for this expansion, it is expected to be over Rs. 1 crore. The investment is being made by the company with the strong hope that digital printing will definitely grow in the future.
Sanjay further shared that despite ups and downs in the past few months due to demonetization, GST, etc., he decided to invest in this segment. “Overall business sentiments are not quite positive but demand is still there and it should grow. It is all about how you sustain yourself and control your cost. Our expansion will help us reduce costing and grow the business,” the Director stressed.
Despite all the market challenges and cost issues involved in digital printing, job work units like Escott Apparels in Delhi-NCR are expanding their digital printing capacities by investing in new and advanced printers as the segment has emerged to be a money-spinner for them.
