The Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN) has proposed to build a garment production hub in Lagos. The production hub is expected to include a retail store to display the garments and accessories made by Nigerian fashion designers and garment manufacturers thereby providing a meeting point for the leading brands in the Nigerian apparel market. The association would need about N150 million for the construction of the hub and is looking at getting financial support from the Federal Government and other investors.
Kolawole Kuddus, Lagos state coordinator of the association, said that it would serve as a breeding ground for budding fashion designers, reduce the high production costs in fashion designing, and also boost productivity.
