Rewarding excellence in exports, The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL) recently presented 56 awards across 32 categories to 36 companies this year during the TEXPROCIL 2017-2018 awards. The criteria laid down for the purpose of selecting the winners included their export performance for the year 2017-18 with the weightage on percentage increase in their total export, breakthrough in the market and focus on product development etc. This year category of generating highest employment was also added. Few giants of Indian textile industries received accolades in different categories. Smriti Zubin Irani, Minister of Textiles recently presented these awards in Mumbai.

As far as the category of Other Fabrics including embroidered, lace etc is concerned, Atlas Exports (Group Companies) got gold and Alok Industries Ltd. achieved silver award with the export of Rs. 57.82 cr. and Rs. 45.43 cr. in this category respectively.
Special achievement awards were given to GTN Textiles Ltd. for yarn; Paramount Textile Mills for fabrics and Premier Fine Linens for Madeups. Globe Cotyarn got gold award for highest employment generation (between 100- 300) and BVM Overseas Ltd, yarn division of Sintex Industries. (above 300).
It is pertinent to mention here that 22 out of 36 award winning companies this year, received the awards last year as well.
