
Color Lines Clothing India, having the ‘Baboosh’ children’s wear brand recently organized a Kids Fun Run for the Bangalore community to raise awareness and funds for the cancer treatment of underprivileged children at the paediatric oncology wing of the Mazumdar Shaw Cancer Center. The Baboosh Kids Fun Run to cure children’s cancer successfully donated Rs. 10 lakh for the treatment of underprivileged children suffering from cancer. “We look forward to engaging kids at a young age in charitable endeavours in a way that is both fun and fruitful, we are planning on making it an annual event,” informed Ayesha Katrak, ED of the company and founder of Baboosh. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, CMD, Biocon also congratulated Baboosh for this very thoughtful initiative and said that it will make a difference to many children and their families.
Children between the age of 2 to 12 years participated in the event and the field was interspersed with various traditional carnival games and jugglers, stilt walkers and sword swallowers. The event also had various educational activities, yoga, dance and other activities to engage the children.
Established in 1997, Color Lines Clothing has 6 units with almost 3,500 workers and in 2013-14 it is expected to do export of Rs. 180 crore. While currently operating two locations in Bangalore, Baboosh is fast expanding both online and offline looking at reaching over 10 stores in 6 cities in the next year.
