A diversified Group which started as a trading company for consumer products and subsequently entered into power, cement and agro business, Aman Group forayed into textile in 2006 by putting up a spinning unit. Today the company has three textile companies namely – Aman Cotton Fibrous Ltd. (Cotton Yarn), Anwara Mannan Textile Mills Ltd. (Synthetic Yarns) and Amantex Ltd. which is a composite mill with knitting, dyeing, printing, finishing and garmenting.
Largely producing yarns for its captive consumption, the company has also been feeding and addressing the yarn needs of smaller companies and lately experienced a major demand boost for the industry matching the YOY growth of garment export of 13% from the country (garment exports totalled US $ 21.5 billion for the financial year that ended in June 2013, up 13 per cent from a year earlier). “We are almost doubling our capacities, adding 90,000 more spindles; the construction work is on full swing and the new plant would be commissioned by next year,” informs Rezaul Islam Siddiquee, Executive Director, Aman Group while interacting with Team Apparel Online.
Capitalising on garment export boom, Aman went for a composite garment unit with its own knitting, dyeing, printing, finishing and garmenting. “With 1650 sewing machines on 3 floors under one roof, we produce about 80,000 pieces per day of basic garments namely basic T-shirts, jackets and bottoms,” avers Siddiquee. Catering to volume retailers like H&M, Walmart, Tesco, Next, s. Oliver, Kmart, to mention a few, Aman produces menswear, ladies and children’s wear for the international market.
The ongoing expansion in spinning will be followed by increase in its processing capabilities including dyeing capacities which is presently 20 metric tonnes per day. The company has a current washing capacity of 3 metric tonnes per day while in its knitting section it is producing 15 metric tonnes per day.
