The revenues from apparel sales in Japanese department stores during November are not positive. The total revenues clocked were valued 112,091.42 million yen (US $ 1.08 billion) during November ’20, declining 21.40 per cent on Y-o-Y basis.
According to the latest released data by Japan Department Stores Association (JDSA), the revenues in apparel retail were also down by 2.80 per cent as compared to October ’20.
Womenswear constituted 17.10 per cent of the overall retail sales generated in Japanese department stores during the month of November, while it topped the fashion category as well with 63.84 per cent share.
However, the women clothing dropped by 21.70 per cent in November ’20 on Y-o-Y basis to clock 71,562.45 million yen (US $ 692 million) revenues.
Menswear, sharing 6.20 per cent in total retail sales, accommodated 25,846.72 million yen (US $ 250 million) revenues in November ’20, dropping 23.60 per cent from November ’19.
On the other hand, kidswear witnessed 20 per cent decline on yearly basis in November this year to earn 6,746.92 million yen (US $ 65.25 million) revenues. All other types of clothing noted 12 per cent growth on yearly basis and valued 7,935.32 million yen (US $ 76.73 million) in November.
