French sustainable sneaker and footwear brand, Veja is continuing to expand its base with recent store launches in Brazil and the USA. These strategic openings reflect the brand’s commitment of promoting eco-friendly shoes.
Its São Paulo store highlights the brand’s attachment to the country from where it not only procures raw materials and the Amazon rubber but also produces its products, in accordance with the established fair trade principles.
In the USA, Veja opted for a strategic location at Abbot Kinney Boulevard in the Venice District of Los Angeles. The brand’s store in Los Angeles is minimally done and even has a shoe-making workshop. With the workshop, the brand aims at engaging with the customers by highlighting its sustainable ethos and its craftsmanship.
Following the launches of its two stores in Brazil and the USA, the brand is also planning on opening its first store in Copenhagen, Denmark. The brand explained that the location is perfect for them as it already has a clientele which is environmentally aware and focuses on sustainability.
With a strong commitment towards providing environmentally-friendly designs, the 100 per cent independently-owned, Veja registered a sale of US $ 288 million in 2024. Further classification of its 2024 sales shows the brand’s broad sales channel, which includes 70 per cent from wholesale, 20 per cent from e-commerce, and 10 per cent from its own stores.
Apart from expanding its retail footprint and sales channels, the brand has also made fresh sustainable strides. For instance, Veja’s tropically-inspired sandal Etna features an Amazonian rubber sole and an insole developed from natural products like sugarcane. Its other sugarcane insole offering also includes collaborative Veja x Homecore sandals.
