Tadashi Yanai, CEO and founder of Uniqlo, will be leaving his post as SoftBank board member after 18 years by the end of this month.
This was confirmed by Japan-based SoftBank Group. Tadashi, as per media reports, will invest more time on his fashion business.
The resignation comes in the wake of SoftBank’s struggle with the fallout from the failed IPO of We-Work, with Masayoshi Son, CEO and founder, SoftBank saying he misjudged co-founder Adam Neumann’s character and now pledges to strengthen corporate governance at the group’s investments.
There has been criticism that not many can question Masayoshi’s judgement.
“Tadashi has been known for being willing to voice his dissent at some of Son’s decisions. His successor has, however, not been decided as yet, a SoftBank spokeswoman reportedly said.
