Swedish fast fashion giant H&M has decided to phase out its B2B service Treadler’s operations in coming months.
H&M’s Treadler allowed third-party firms to unlock H&M’s global supply chain, which included Higg-vetted factories as well.
The aim was to overcome initial business hiccups and speed up its sustainability progress.
The retailer, reportedly, stated that Treadler hasn’t been growing fast enough lately and looking at H&M’s current and necessary reprioritisations, the retailer has finally decided to discontinue.
H&M Group, however, has decided to support the team to ensure a smooth transition whether they stay on or leave the company, which–besides H&M–includes & Other Stories, Asket, Cos, Monki and Weekday brands.
Treadler was launched with the aim to offer the fashion world with some of H&M Group’s core assets and investments, contributing to the retail giant’s own growth.
Founded in 1947, H&M is known for its fast-fashion apparels for men, women, teenagers and children. It generated US $ 24.8 billion in 2019.
