Indian ethnic wear brand Soch has expanded its international footprint with the opening of three stores in Malaysia, marking its entry into Southeast Asia. The new outlets are located in Klang, Johor Bahru, and Kuala Lumpur, the company announced in a recent press release.
This move follows Soch’s earlier international debut in Canada and underscores the brand’s ambition to position itself as a global name in ethnic fashion. Vinay Chatlani, Co-founder and CEO of Soch Apparels, said the expansion laid the groundwork for Soch to be recognised not only as a leader in India’s ethnic wear market but also as a global brand with contemporary cultural relevance.
The Malaysian stores operate under a franchise partnership with local retail company Venturist Sdn. Bhd. The product range has been tailored to suit the region’s tropical climate and local cultural calendar while staying true to Soch’s distinctive design ethos.
As part of its international growth strategy, Soch plans to open two to three additional stores in Malaysia over the next three to five years and launch e-commerce services for local customers. The brand is also exploring further opportunities in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Currently, Soch operates more than 175 stores across 68 Indian cities, offering a wide range of sarees, salwar suits, kurtis, lehengas, and fusion wear.
