
Global footwear brand Skechers has opened its first National Distribution Center (NDC) in the country in Palava City near Dombivli in Maharashtra.
The 650-square-meter facility will ship approximately 60,000 pairs every day to its broad statewide retail network in India, as well as link with its direct-to-consumer channel.
Skechers intends to expand its NDC to 1,000 square metres over the next two years, boosting its capacity from 4 million pairs to 7 million pairs per year.
Commenting on the launch, David Weinberg, chief operating officer of Skechers in a statement said, “The establishment of the Skechers National Distribution Center stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment and confidence in the Indian market.”
Rahul Vira, CEO of Skechers South Asia added, “As the Indian footwear market gears up for its next phase of expansion, the National Distribution Center is poised to efficiently meet the current demand and seamlessly scale for the future generations of growth ahead.”
Skechers retails in India through its e-commerce website, retail stores as well as at third-party retailers across the country.
